Jewish Lifestyle Winter/Spring Course 2022 $475

$475.00

The Jewish Lifestyle Course

Led by both Yehezqel and Keturah, with Keturah teaching the main bulk of the classes, this 6-8-week paid virtual course is an introduction to the Jewish lifestyle in both the home and community. This course deals directly with the physical Jewish Lifestyle and the main tenants of the Jewish faith system. It includes topics such as what do Jews believe and the differences between the mainstream sects/groups, Shabbat laws, Holy Days, life’s key moments (birth, bat/bar mitzvah, weddings, & death), mikvah & laws of purity, and introduces the student to basic concepts of kosher and synagogue life.  Also discussed are dealing with secular issues with a Jewish mindset and how to integrate and balance faith in the workplace and world in general.

The Jewish Lifestyle course is a great class for those who are thinking about taking the next step into living a Jewish lifestyle as well as anyone who wants to know more about Jewish life before making a commitment. It is also for anyone who wants to know what their place is within the Jewish people and how they can grow in their Jewish faith. The course fee includes class material, Zoom chat access, separate social media private group access, and access for all downloadables for the course.

Those enrolling are required to participate in group work as well as essays or assignments. This is a participation-type class and is meant for community growth. It is not for those who only want videos and notes to complete on their own. This class focuses on growth as a community-minded Jew.

DEADLINE: JANUARY 31ST, 2022.

DISCLAIMER:

*This course is a “basic Judaism 101” course and does not focus on anything outside of “basic Judaism”. This means we will NOT be learning or integrating ANY other religious content outside of “basic JUDAISM”. We will reference, however, some deeper level Judaism (Talmud/Kabbalah), only when needed.

What is the core of Judaism? It is loving your neighbor as yourself, worshipping only HaShem (monotheism, belief in the existence of one god, or in the oneness of God), following the commandments of the Torah & oral law, and growing your family & community so the teachings of the Torah can keep going generation after generation.

We will ONLY be discussing those things and any synagogue within Judaism that offers a “Judaism 101” orientation class or a conversion class also teaches this same basic information.

Some students, after completing this course, go on to convert within the traditional Jewish community in their local area. Others may want to take this course to know more about Judaism in order to help them where they are at without moving forward.  Anything that you do with the knowledge gained from our course is great. We encourage everyone to grow at the rate that they are called to do. We also encourage everyone to enter the paths that they must travel to get to their purpose in life. While we do not all have the same purpose and calling in life (because we are not robots), all of our journeys end at the same goal. We encourage you to learn in peace and welcome you to class regardless of where you are in your life journey.
